deliverables
Self-mailer
audience
Ages 25–40 and interested in donating or saving the oceans.
Oceana is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the oceans and making them as rich, healthy, and abundant as they once were. Not only do they work to keep the oceans clean, but also protect the wildlife that inhabit the ocean.
Receiving donations became the call to action, but the choice was made to also fit as much information in the self-mailer. Since this was such a small piece an infograph was the best choice for fitting all of the information.
The color palette that Oceana uses, was used for the self-mailer. Photography from their website was also included in small sections. For the infograph, the goal was to create a hierarchy using the text. Icons were also used in different places to break up the text. To carry out the call-to-action, a panel was set aside that said “Donate Today!” and on the inside the question of why the reader should donate was answered.
