“The Bears Who Came to Town and Would Not Go Away” is the story of bear who came to a town in Russia and ended up killing a person. One by one more bears came into this town and soon enough they were everywhere. Finally the decision was made to start killing the bears. While many people were in favor of this, others were against these bears being killed and wanted to protect them. This caused for a divide in the town, and many were unsure of what was the right thing to do.
To keep the editorial to 8-pages, a serif typeface was used to help with readability and space. Switching between a one and two column grid structure created breathing room for the text, and the illustrations and the pull quotes were used to break up the large sections.  A minimal color palette, and black and white illustrations were used to accompany the text. This approach brought equity to both sides of the story, and emphasized that neither side was better than the other.
